Local Low-cost Spay/Neuter for Dogs
Apply for Rockbridge Animal Alliance’s low-cost spay/neuter program here: RAA Dog Spay/Neuter Application. Call/text (540) 319-9945 if you need help filling out the application. To qualify, you must be a resident of Lexington, Buena Vista, or Rockbridge County and the household income must fall below 200% of the 2021 Federal Poverty Level (see chart below). **Due to limited funding, we are only able to help hound and pit bull mixes.** See below for other area options if your dog is not a hound or pit bull.
For an owner co-pay of $30, a dog will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated for rabies by a local vet (we partner with Lexington Animal Hospital and The WellPet Group). Our vet partners recommend that the dog is at least 6 months old before having the surgery. Surgeries are scheduled within just a few weeks. Once an application has been approved, we will be in touch by email (check your spam folder) or text with more details.
