Veterinary Assistance Program

RAA is offering low-income pet owners help with routine veterinary care. This program will help with wellness exams, rabies and distemper vaccines, pedicures, deworming, flea treatment/prevention, and other routine care.  Due to limited funding, the most we are able to contribute is $50 per animal. Criteria to qualify for the program,

the pet must

  • be a cat, hound/hound mix or pit bull/pit bull mix
  • be spayed/neutered
  • never had a wellness exam
  • be 3 years old or younger

and the owner must

  • pay at least a $30 copayment the day of the visit
  • be a resident of Lexington, Buena Vista or Rockbridge County
  • fall under 200% of the Federal Poverty Level
  • apply and be approved before making the appointment

This program is funded 100% through grants and donations.  We pay the veterinarian practice directly.  Help support this program by donating here.
