Of the 135 dogs fixed through our low-cost spay/neuter program, 77 dogs had never been seen by a veterinarian. Of the 77 dogs never seen by a vet, 51 were over the age of one. We wanted to change that by offering education and financial assistance with routine veterinary care.
This program is funded 100% through grants and donations, along with the owner’s copayment. It will help with wellness exams, rabies and other routine shots, pedicures, deworming, flea treatment/prevention and other routine care. At the same time, owners will receive education on responsible pet ownership.
Due to limited funding, the program is currently open only to cats, hounds, hound mixes, pit bulls and pit bull mixes- animals most likely to end up at the shelter. Consider making a tax-deductible donation to help support our program. It’s a great way to celebrate the life of a beloved human or 4-legged pet, or makes a great birthday or holiday present.
